Guidelines for Reporting Violations at Klaipeda University

Are you aware of the types of violations you should (or may) report if you notice any at Klaipeda University?

A violation at KU refers to a potentially planned, ongoing, or committed criminal offense, administrative misconduct, disciplinary violation, or breach of work duties. It also includes serious breaches of mandatory professional ethics standards or any other legal violations that threaten or harm the public interest. Such information is typically known to the whistleblower through their current or previous official duties, employment, or contractual relationship with the institution.

Information about violations is provided to protect the public interest. According to the Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers, violations should be reported in cases of:

  • Obstruction or unlawful influence on investigations conducted by law enforcement authorities or on judicial proceedings related to KU;
  • Financing of illegal activities at KU;
  • Unlawful or non-transparent use of public funds or assets at KU;
  • Illegally acquired property at KU;
  • Concealment of violations or obstruction in determining the extent of their consequences at KU.
