QS World University Rankings: Europe

In the prestigious QS World University Rankings: Europe for 2024, KU rose 14 places and currently ranks 445th among 685 evaluated European universities. KU's overall score also increased by 0.8 points, reaching 15.1 out of 100. Klaipeda University achieved the highest position among other European universities in terms of the ratio of outbound exchange students (67th, up from 212th last year), inbound exchange students (90th, up from 136th), and the faculty-student ratio (117th, up from 158th).

In the context of Lithuanian universities, KU out of 12 indicators improved its positions in 8, maintained stable positions in 2, and was evaluated for the first time in the remaining indicators. Compared to other Lithuanian universities, KU jumped from sixth to first place in the citations per paper, from sixth to second in academic reputation, and from fifth to second in international faculty ratio. KU also rose to third place in the rankings for the faculty-student ratio, international research network, and outbound exchange students.

Reitingai

According to the ratings of the journal Reitingai for the year 2023-2024, three KU study programs are evaluated in the top postion in Lithuania: Marine Engineering (MA), Tourism and Recreation (MA), and Marine Engineering (BA). Additionally, 9 MA and 4 BA study programs have improved their ranking positions.

Thirteen BA (last year - 11) and 18 MA (last year - 12) study programs maintain top positions in the rankings: Marine Engineering (BA and MA), Medical Technologies (BA), Biology (BA), Nursing  (BA and MA), Leisure Sports (BA), Physical Geography (BA and MA), Archaeology (BA), Journalism (BA), Education (BA and MA), Philology (BA), Rehabilitation (BA), Civil Engineering (BA and MA), Computer Engineering (BA), Tourism and Recreation (MA), Linguistics (MA), Manufacturing Engineering (MA), Chemical Engineering (MA), Social Work (MA), Human Geography (MA), Theology (MA), Ecology (MA), Philosophy (MA), Political Science (MA), Public Health (MA), Computer Engineering (MA), and History (MA).

Times Higher Education: Impact Rankings

In 2024, The Impact Rankings evaluate universities based on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Introduced to the academic community for the first time in 2019, these rankings consider the institutions' impact on society and their contributions to addressing the most pressing global challenges related to environmental sustainability, social inclusion, economic growth, and partnerships. 2152 universities from 125 countries were ranked. KU received a score of 64.5-69.8, sharing the 601-800th places with other universities worldwide. KU scored the highest in the following categories: "Quality Education" (75.9 points), "Partnerships for the Goals" (59.9-67.4 points), "Gender Equality" (48.2-55.2 points), and "Reducing Inequality" (47.2-56.4 points). An impressive ranking for KU is in the fourth SDG category, "Quality Education"—out of more than 2,000 evaluated universities, KU secured the 79th position.
