On October 14th at 3:00 PM, during the solemn Senate session in the Stasys Vaitekūnas Hall of Klaipeda University, the honorary doctorate regalia will be awarded to Prof. hab. dr. Bogusław Buszewski and Prof. dr. Jean-Marc Ogier.

- Professor Jean-Marc Ogier is a prominent French academic in the fields of computer science and artificial intelligence. He has authored more than 200 publications and actively participates in various research projects in France and Europe, collaborating with both public institutions and private companies. Throughout his career, Ogier has been actively involved in the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR), serving as the chair of various technical committees and representing France on the IAPR governing board. His contributions to the field of pattern recognition and leadership in academic innovation are highly significant both in France and within the international scientific community.
Since 2016, Professor Ogier has served as the President of the La Rochelle Université. As a leader, he is focused on interdisciplinarity, personalized learning, and sustainability. Ogier is also the Chairman of the Board of the EU-CONEXUS European University Alliance, which brings together nine partner universities across Europe to promote innovation and collaboration on sustainable coastal topics. Both the La Rochelle Université and Klaipeda University are members of this Alliance.
- Professor Bogusław Andrzej Buszewski is a distinguished Polish chemist whose extensive career spans over 40 years, with contributions to chemistry, environmental science, and biomedical research. Professor has gained significant recognition with over 600 publications in prestigious scientific journals.
He has pioneered advancements in separation techniques, particularly chromatography and electromigration, developing innovative stationary phases and nano-columns with wide applications in medical diagnostics and environmental analysis. His interdisciplinary work has led to the creation of rapid microbiological testing methods and bioanalytical tools, significantly impacting cancer research and personalized medicine. Professor Buszewski’s achievements are globally recognized, placing him among the world’s top 2% most-cited scientists according to Stanford University.
