Based on the Statutes of the Klaipėda University Employees' Trade Union, the Law on Trade Unions of the Republic of Lithuania, and the Labour Code of the Republic of Lithuania, the main functions of the Klaipėda University Employees' Trade Union are as follows:
- Represents and protects its members' labor, professional, economic, and social rights, as well as their related legitimate interests;
- Conducts negotiations and concludes agreements with the employer regarding employment, retraining, remuneration, improvement of working and living conditions, and other related matters;
- Represents employees in collective bargaining and concludes collective agreements in accordance with the law;
- Monitors the employer's compliance with labor, economic, and social laws, as well as collective agreements and arrangements;
- Represents and defends its members' rights and interests in the resolution of collective and individual labor disputes;
- Supports and participates in actions organized by other trade unions, provided they are in agreement;
- Takes care of the material support of trade union members, organizes events, seminars, and educational excursions when possible, and provides information on current labor relations issues.
